Projects

The first fieldworks were carried out in the 1950’s. In the 1960’s – 1980’s a gradual increase of the fieldworks can be noted. Methodologically, it was mainly quantitative research. Since 1990’s it has come to a total transformation of research and the qualitative methods has started to dominate. 

All the fieldworks are processed in written form and archived together with audio records, photographic records and audiovisual records.    

The archive of fieldwork reports of the DEE offers over 500 written records not only of the traditional folk culture mainly from Moravia, Bohemia, Silesia and Slovakia. 

The Centre for ethnological research was established in 2011 within the project "Cooperation Development and Research Competences in the network of ethnological institutions". In several key activities students have the opportunity to participate in research projects of the Institute of Ethnology AV CR.  Also the mentioned project offers to students other activities leading to an enhancement of skills needed for working in the field.
